Mark agreed to go to Trader Joes. And asked for this on the way out. I think my last purchase convinced him!

My Lexi dog. I couldn't just put up a photo of one this week!

A few weeks ago Mark built a little garden space for me in our backyard. But with all the rain we just were able to plant in it this past weekend. I am so excited. We got basil, cilantro, strawberries, tomatoes, sweet peas, zucchini, cucumber, peppers, and the coolest thing: artichokes. It will be a while before we will get to pick anything from our garden, but it was fun to plant it with Mark. We had a blast.
OK the following is really gross but makes me laugh. Just a fair warning before you continue reading.
I love my dogs. But… well… it’s that time of the month, or that time of the every six months as the case may be for dogs. And it is gross. The dogs are going to have to enjoy the great outdoors quite a bit the next few weeks, but I was a little worried because we still bring them in at night to sleep. So I spent $50 on feminine products for dogs. (Ugh I can’t even believe I just typed that. The Dutch part of our family is cringing right now.)
In case you were wondering they look a little like this.
The thing is I really don’t like discussing gross things just for the heck of it. So now we get to the funny part; what do you put dog panty liners in you may ask?
Dog panties!
I know! I know it is disgusting but it is also the most hilarious thing watching them HATE their panties so much. Meisje has gotten used to it but Lexi HATES wearing her underpants. In fact I went outside to help Mark get some things out of his truck and when we came back in we couldn’t find Lexi anywhere. Even when we called out for her she didn’t come running which is highly unusual.
She was hiding under Mark’s little bitty Ikea desk. She was ashamed! Poor baby.
It really nasty. But also they look so funny. On the plus side, we haven’t moved so my freshly shampooed carpets are safe!
We went camping AGAIN this past weekend. We always have so many adventures but I like camping even more than normal when we bring our puppies.
Meisje and Lexi love camping. But the one problem is that Lexi is a TERRIBLE swimmer. I don’t know if she is really a terrible swimmer but she does hate water. Every time we try to get her to go in the water she freaks out.
But we really wanted to hang out at the lake all day and we wanted to make sure Lexi felt comfortable.
I think she was more embarrassed and nervous than comfortable but I think this picture is so hilariously cute.
