Booger

6 Jun

Earlier this week Mark flicked something at me. Fortunately it missed and hit the passenger window instead. And it looked like a booger.

I was horrified. He was laughing and laughing.

He told me me to pick it off the window; no way Jose.

When I asked why he flicked the booger at me, he just laughed and said

So that you could have a little bit of me on you.

Somehow he turned a possible booger into a sweet sentiment (kind of).

So weird. But I love him.

PS. This is an isolated incident. I do not normally get boogers flicked at me. We were just having a weird day.

Two Years

29 May

Today marks two years of being married to the funniest, most handsome, loving and generous guy I know. Last year I put together all the memories I had from the first year of marriage, and since the second year of marriage has been just as exciting I figured I should make another list!

Some of my favorite memories from year two of marriage:

  1. Getting our first house! I was so impatient with this and with all the projects associated with this place it has been an adventure to fix up but it has been so much fun doing it together.
  2. Stagecoach. It is always awesome. Particularly with my very own cowboy.
  3. Lazy Sundays. Since we have been in the new house this has been one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon with Mark
  4. Holiday madness. Every year since we started dating Mark and I have embarked on a crazy season of travel to be with both sides of the family and even though it is wild, I love it.
  5. Random weekend getaways. Any excuse to go on an adventure is a good idea to me!
  6. Adventures in the almond orchard.

I can’t believe it has been two years since our wedding. Love this man! So excited for all the years to come!

Happy Valentines Day!

14 Feb

Five years ago I had a brand new boyfriend who came to visit me in Orange County all the way from northern California just for Valentines Day.

See - new boyfriend. Old agenda with Mark events color coded in orange - yes I have always been a nerd.

I was actually pretty reserved about him because it seemed silly to even think about dating someone who lived so far away.

But he seriously blew me away that weekend. I am all for showy gifts that involve throwing down some cash, but a well thought out gift can really grab a girl’s attention.

He must have purchased everything that the CVS had to offer. I had a huge box to open with all sorts of treats. My favorite though was an entire box of Valentines. Like the kind that you get when you are little so you can give one to everyone in the class. All of them were addressed to me from Mark. And when I put them together they spelled out a message to me. It was adorable.

First Valentines Treat!

Another adorable Valentine: home made coupons. Can’t beat this. I would like to point out the back massage. Since these are only good on Feb 14 (no year listed), I am going to take advantage of this old coupon today!

Valentines 2007

I love my man. Neither of us our spending much money on the other this year. And I am so excited to celebrate with little things again this year. Sometimes they are just the best!

Isn't he cute!

Tell me a Story

14 Dec

Since we started dating, I have been the talker in the relationship. It’s just not Mark’s thing. But he does try.

Sometimes if I am chatting on forever, I stop and say to Mark, “Tell me a story,” to try to get him to chat a bit.

It never works. He always responds, “I looooove you!” (Ahhhh) But I still ask him anyway.

Last night I asked again, “Tell me a story?” And he responded as always, “I looooove you!” And I responded with, “That’s not a story! That’s a fact!”

So he said, “There once was a boy named Mark and he loooooves you!”

Mark won.
